The Uyghur Freedom Forum convened its third international conference in Istanbul on May 10, 2025, under the theme “Movement for Independence.” The event brought together a diverse group of participants, including academics, researchers, representatives of Uyghur organizations, and students from across Turkey, as well as guests from the United Kingdom, Germany, Finland, Hungary, and Malaysia.

The conference aimed to raise global awareness of China’s ongoing policies targeting the Uyghur population, support the Uyghur people’s struggle for independence, and foster academic and civil society cooperation on these issues.
Speakers and participants addressed the historical, political, and cultural dimensions of the Uyghur issue through presentations and panel discussions. The forum also provided a platform for exchanging ideas on international advocacy, strategic action, and collaborative efforts to end the ongoing persecution and advance the cause of Uyghur independence.
