Uyghur youth gathered in Istanbul for a 9-day training on “International Conjuncture and National Struggle Methods,” organized by the Uyghur Academy.
A nine-day training course titled “International Conjuncture and National Struggle Methods” for Uyghur youth began on Saturday, August 23rd, in Selimpasha, Istanbul, with 20 participants. The program is jointly organized by the Uyghur Academy Foundation and the Uyghur İlim-Marifet Foundation with the aim of preparing a core group of Uyghur youth to take on leadership roles in the future.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Abdulhamid Karahan, President of the Uyghur Academy Foundation, congratulated the participants and outlined the goals of the program. He explained that the course would be led by Uyghur researchers and specialists, cover new and useful topics, and provide opportunities for participants to engage in social activities. In addition, English lessons at various levels, tailored to each participant’s proficiency, would be offered by an American instructor.
Karahan expressed his gratitude to Habibullah Köseni, President of the Uyghur İlim-Marifet Foundation, and to the foundation’s board members for creating the necessary conditions for the course to take place.
Habibullah Köseni also addressed the youth, encouraging them to view the training not only as a religiously meritorious activity but also as a national duty. He expressed his hope that they would make the most of the program and gain valuable knowledge and experience.
Dr. Gülzade Hanım, Chief Inspector of the Uyghur Academy Foundation, highlighted the organization’s consistent focus on youth education. She noted that the Uyghur Academy has given special importance to this field for nearly seven years and that such programs will yield significant results in the long term.
On the first day, Abdulhamid Karahan gave a presentation titled “The 15-Year Journey of the Uyghur Academy,” followed by a lecture supported by concrete evidence on “The Role of Uyghur Academy Intellectuals in Strengthening the East Turkistan National Independence Movement.”
Karahan presented “The National Struggle Methods of the Jews” as a case study, urging the youth to explore both short- and long-term strategies for the Uyghur national independence movement against China. In the afternoon, the participants split into groups and began social and group-based activities.
