Uygur Academy Foundation President Abdulhamit Karahan and Uygur Academy Higher Education Committee Director Assoc. Prof. Nimetcan Mehmet Orhun visited National Youth Association President Ahmet Özvatan in Ankara on behalf of the Uygur Academy Foundation, Turkey Uyghur Organizations Platform, and World Uyghur Congress.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the East Turkistan national struggle, the situation of Uyghurs, Turkey-China relations, and the conditions of Uyghurs in Turkey and the diaspora. Subsequently, consultations took place regarding cooperation between Uyghur NGOs such as the Uygur Academy Foundation, Turkey Uyghur Organizations Platform, and World Uyghur Congress with the National Youth Association.
Mr. Ahmet Özvatan stated that the National Youth Association, following in the footsteps of the late National Vision (Milli Görüş) leader Prime Minister Prof. Necmettin Erbakan, has been providing support to their East Turkistani brothers to the best of their ability and will continue to stand with the Uyghurs against China’s oppression.
