by Mehmet Emin Hazret

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China (Taiwan) has released the latest information regarding the activities of aircraft and vessels belonging to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) around the Taiwan Strait.

According to the Ministry’s statement, between 6:00 a.m. on June 24 and 6:00 a.m. on June 25, a total of 43 Chinese military assets—including aircraft and ships—were detected operating near the Taiwan Strait. These included 37 fighter jets and 6 naval vessels.

Out of the detected aircraft, 34 crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered Taiwan’s southwestern and southeastern airspace. Additionally, between 7:45 a.m. and 6:05 p.m., Chinese fighter jets and unmanned aerial vehicles were spotted in the region’s airspace. At least two of these crossed the median line directly.

On the same day, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 p.m., 31 fighter jets and helicopters affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party were observed operating in Taiwan’s southwestern airspace. Another helicopter was detected in the southeastern airspace between 3:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

The Ministry stated that the national armed forces closely monitored and responded to these maneuvers. Combat aircraft, naval units, and land-based missile systems were deployed for surveillance and deterrence, remaining on high alert.

The Ministry urged the public to closely follow developments and refrain from trusting unverified information. “Such activities and their implications for regional peace and stability are being closely monitored.”
